The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The person hired for the position will be part of a team of engineers responsible for developing new technology and product, supporting current productions and customers.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing manufacturing leadership on cross-functional new product introduction (NPI) teams. Planning and executing design transfer to the manufacturing floor, safely, on-time, and within budget


• Identifying and executing continuous improvement projects involving new technologies to improve product cost, service, and quality


• Solving customer problems through the development of new products and applications, from lab stage to production


• Full Cycle development of new and improved processes and products from Lab to pilot through to production for noise, vibration, and thermal control applications


• Use your knowledge and ingenuity to solve real world problems in new and diverse ways. Impact new product development and find new application for existing products


• Serving as subject matter expert for manufacturing process to launch new products. 


• Working collaboratively with development engineers, application engineers, and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical challenges in manufacturing process

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Three (3) years of experience with new product development and manufacturing process in a private, public, government or military environment ​

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Five (5) years of demonstrated engineering experience with new product development and manufacturing process for noise, vibration, and thermal control products


• Ability to generate novel ideas and creatively apply to existing and new products


• Experience in compression molding, injection molding, and extrusion


• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills


• Experience with new product commercialization

Travel: May include up to15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: Is authorized
