The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is looking to recruit a hard-working Custodian to keep our buildings functionally and aesthetically intact. The Custodian will ensure the buildings are tidy, clean, and well-maintained. To ensure success you need to prioritize tasks and take pride in your work. Top candidates will be energetic, upstanding, and dexterous.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Custodian will ensure that all areas of the facilities and grounds are clean and ready for members, visitors, and staff to use. The Custodian will sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. You will clean walls, ceilings, windows, and other surfaces and restock items, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies. Assist with preparations for events, such as meetings and training. To be a successful Custodian, you should be observant, respectful, motivated, and committed to providing members, visitors, and staff with a clean, orderly place to congregate. To work well in this role you should have basic experience cleaning.

We are looking to fill shifts at our new Chapel Heights Location (4320 Jericho Loop CS CO 80916) which is scheduled to open in November 2022. Training will take place at designated YMCA locations.

SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:
Full time; split between Senior Center and Chapel Heights
Senior Center: Wednesday - Friday; 8-4:30pm
Chapel Heights; Monday and Tuesday possible Saturday shift hours to be discussed

CUSTODIAN REQUIREMENTS:
At least 18 years of ageAbility to read and writeAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Flexibility to adjust schedules to suit the needs of the organization.Motivation to work independently or with others to provide thorough, efficient custodial services.Physically agile and dexterous.Basic math skills.Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents.Outstanding organizational skills.

CUSTODIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining clean facilities by performing daily/weekly/monthly duties in all areas of the building and grounds.Duties to include but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, windows, mirrors, empty trash and recyclingClean sidewalks, parking lots and other outdoor areas of trash and debrisAssist with snow removalCollect and/or remove soiled towels from the locker rooms and other parts of the facilityDo laundry (towels, mop heads) throughout shiftRestock consumables (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer) and other suppliesObserving proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles, or masks and following written or verbal instructionsMaintaining cleaning equipment.Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.Assisting with event preparations and clean up.Interacting with members, staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner.May require various shift assignmentsReport any building damage or mechanical deficiencies to Custodian DirectorOther duties as assigned
