Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Pulmonary Function Tech. (Full-Time), to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida.

This position is responsible for performing all aspects of Allergy diagnostic testing and related patient and family education.

• Performs routine and specialty pulmonary function testing.
• Performs complete and accurate patient assessment or reassessment including pulse oximetry.
• Provides education to the patient and /or parent/guardian in a manner that the recipient understands in order to contribute to positive patient care outcome and patient satisfaction.
• Performs quality controls and ensures preventative maintenance is completed ion diagnostic equipment. Maintains and orders supplies necessary for pulmonary function lab.
• Participate in the evaluation of sleep study equipment, supplies, and procedures.
• Responds to Code Blue calls and assists in monitoring and stabilizing the patient.
• Performs skin testing as needed.
• Performs scheduling of appointments and procedures as needed.
• Demonstrates service-oriented approach when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Participates in professional in services, departmental and clinical staff meetings.
• Demonstrates standard precautions and proper handling of bio-hazardous waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Associate Degree required.
• Successful completion of the RRT program.
• State of Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist License required.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience required.
• One (1) minimum pediatric experience required; three (3) years preferred.
