Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Administrative Assistant in our Administration surgery division.

Primary Functions:

The Administrative Assistant for the Departments of Surgery and Anesthesia will be responsible for coordinating and performing the administrative support functions required to accomplish department initiatives.

Skills needed to successfully perform this position include the ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a calm and responsive manner, the ability to produce a high volume of accurate, high-quality work in an organized and efficient manner, and the ability to assist with a broad range of assignments and situations. Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential to perform successfully in this position.

The person in this role must embrace the concepts of life-long learning and demonstrate a willingness to acquire new technical skills as the environment demands.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides administrative support to the Departments of Surgery and Anesthesia
  • Provides all administrative functions in regards to Medical Students, Residents and Rotators, as well as the Children's Surgery Verification Program (CSV).
  • Accurately prepare and process payment requests, dues/license payment and associate reimbursements
  • Proactively identify problems and opportunities related to the missions of the Department
  • Maintain departmental records including files and electronic communications, database, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Distributes information and reports as directed.
  • Keeps technology skills current by education and on the job training in various applications
  • Organizes, attends, and maintains documentation of committee meetings as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Job Requirements:


    • Associates degree
    • 1-3 years of job-related experience required
    • Previous experience supporting leadership positions required.
    • Must be able to multi-task, work independently, prioritize, have excellent time management
