Job Summary:

• This function leads the process of delivering integrated business and information solutions for the Scottsville Manufacturing Location with a focus on manufacturing systems development and management, project management, IT solution design and administration.


• Ensure manufacturing systems and their interface to corporate business systems is fit for purpose and meets the changing needs of manufacturing’s IT infrastructure. 


• Responsible for supervising direct reports’ performance and providing relevant guidance.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

1. Responsible for a portfolio of projects and team of Business Systems Analysts requiring effective collaboration and project management.


2. Manage the software development lifecycle to drive effective and efficient solutions to meet the needs of the business by:
   
   
   
   • Leading manufacturing system upgrade projects requiring responsibility for resources, budget, and schedule.
   
   
   • Capturing and overseeing the requirements gathering process
   
   
   • Developing functional specifications and system design specifications for new systems, new interfaces, new processes, and new requirements.
   
   
   • Planning and leading testing, implementation, training, support, and documentation activities.
   
   
   • Leading testing efforts, resolve technical issues, and specify modifications where necessary.
   
   
   • Communicating required changes to internal and supplier development teams.
   
   
   
   


3. Subject matter expert for existing software portfolio to drive root cause analysis.

Travel Requirements:

• Approximately 10% international travel as required.

Essential IT Experience:

• Systems analysis and design as exhibited by proven experience in manufacturing IT, Manufacturing Software Solutions, MES, ERP, automation interfaces, database, and system design, preferably in an automated manufacturing environment. 

• SQL: Intermediate to advanced SQL skills including complex querying across servers and databases


• Must be familiar with remote data capture technology, automation control systems.


• Must be familiar with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).


• High level of IT literacy – concepts and terminology


• Effective Project Management skills


• Competence with all major Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Visio.

• Experience in various client/server architectures.


• Able to capably use available system tools (Business Objects, SQL, Tableau) reporting tools) to gather and prepare data for report design and analytical tasks.


• Tracing procedural code and making recommendation for improvements

Work Environment:

• Normal office environment.


• Occasional exposure to manufacturing and logistics environments for managing or training in software applications.

Experience:

• Detailed user knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes and systems in several major functional areas.


• Experience working directly in at least one major operational area – Manufacturing, Planning, Packaging, or other operations environment


• 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in a similar function.


• Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, or aerospace.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree is required and/or a combination of education and experience resulting in a sound understanding of job responsibilities.
