The Freight Claims Sr. Analyst is responsible for assisting in delivery of key Best Buy Freight Claims department objectives focused on meeting operational, financial, and service level expectations. The Sr. Analyst will play a leading role as liaison to Best Buy transportation provider claim adjusters and insurance representatives, as well as internal partners including legal, finance, controllership, accounts payable, and across operations teams. The Sr. Analyst will lead collections and dispute resolution initiatives, collaborate to develop programs and best practices focused on overall claim recovery, perform root cause analysis and problem solving, and implement strategies to address process and operational oversights. The Sr. Analyst ill play a key role in a Center of Excellence, provide subject-matter expertise across multiple modes and departments, including home delivery, LTL, Truckload, and Intermodal, and will support Best Buy through internal and external partnerships to analyze and resolve product loss or damages that occur through the Best Buy managed network.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Claim Analysis, Research and Resolution
Assess criteria and determine eligibility for filing freight claims with carriers or vendors
Lead cross-functional collections efforts; Identify, influence, negotiate; Create options and partner with leaders and internal teams to align on optimal recoveries
Lead dispute resolution efforts through carrier/vendor partnerships and negotiation of disputed outstanding claims focused on mutually acceptable outcomes
Partner on investigations for loss, damage and overage claims submitted by field teams from origination through timely claim resolution and closure
Partner with Finance and controllership to analyze and leverage data to assist in formulating actions and plans to prioritize and drive recoveries
Own carrier partnerships; Prioritize and coordinate regular carrier touch point cadence, including collaboration and alignment on priority claim processing and resolution actions
Maintain current industry knowledge and provide insight focused on risk identification and protecting the interests of Best Buy related to carrier contracts during procurement events
Freight Claims Root Cause Analysis
Analyze claim trends to determine root cause; Develop solutions to mitigate future claims
Collaborate with appropriate business partners; Design and implement recommendations
Track performance to determine if recommendations are producing desired results; Identify and implement process improvements as necessary
Claims Reporting
Enhance visibility through design and publishing rhythms of key operational metrics; Identify automation capabilities to drive reporting efficiencies
Lead value-add analysis and push reporting to drive decision making through transportation liability/risk assessments and solution design
Create ad hoc reporting to provide business teams and carriers with visibility to claim trends, performance, strengths, and opportunities
Collaboration with Internal and External Business Partners
Partner with internal teams to:

Implement regular touch points and inclusion in key partner meetings

Basic Requirements:
Analytical and business acumen capabilities

Intermediate to advanced level of experience/skill with Microsoft Excel and Access

2 or more years of Transportation/Supply Chain/Inventory experience
