Manager, Accounting - Full Time, Days (Orange)

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for the oversight of Accounts Payable; review of accountants' work; trend and variance analysis; assisting with preparation of financial statements for Prospect, ProMed, and managed entities; budget variance analysis.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Provide training and develop Accounting staff as needed.
• Prepares performance evaluations, counsels, and takes appropriate steps to address performance concerns.
• Review and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations for Prospect, ProMed, Full Risk and managed entities.
• Review and approve weekly accounts payable invoices ensuring that appropriate support is present, fully executed contracts are in place where applicable, W9's are on file, and reimbursement policy is being followed.
• Assist Controller with preparation of month-end close packages for distribution to Operations management, Holdings (Corporate), and managed clients.
• Prepare variance and trend analysis to assist with financial statement analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budget and interim projections and analysis.
• Monthly budget variance analysis with directors to highlight and explain any unusual variances.
• Communicate to Controller and CFO any significant variances. Identify cost saving opportunities.
• Coordinate and oversee the gathering of PBC items for external and internal audit reviews.
• Identifies areas for streamlining processes involving staff and systems resources.
• Performs special projects and analyses as a primary source of information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field required.

Minimum Experience: General ledger experience in the healthcare environment. Four to six years of general ledger experience, preferably with experience handling multiple entities. Understanding of accounting concepts. Excellent communication skills. Strong personal computer skills (Excel, MAS200, and FRX knowledge preferred). Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Healthcare experience preferred.
