Wardrobe Seamstress-Full Time-Day Shift (Reno) at Caesars Entertainment in Reno, Nevada

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for fittings, alteration and repair service on all types of uniforms, and inputting data into computer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process new hires and transfers for fit and altering of all types of garments.
• Mend and sew buttons and zippers;
• Check and inspect all garments for mending, altering and replacement needs;
• Maintain supply of needles, thread, buttons, zippers and other sewing accessories by informing supervisor when supplies are low;
• Perform Process Counter functions: loaners; terms; payroll deduction sale of accessories;
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
• Regular, predictable attendance;
• Other tasks as may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to speak, read, and understand English and to understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform advanced fitting and sewing skills and operate a power sewing machine.
• Ability to recognize differences in number sequences and file in number sequence.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to contribute to the team effort.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times and conform to company dress code requirements.
• Must be able to work under pressure with constant changing priorities while maintaining pleasant personality and even temperament.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of (1) year experience as a Seamstress/Tailor with working knowledge of power sewing machine operations, stitching, fitting and altering.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in a warehouse type environment which may entail various conditions of hot, cold, noisy, dimly lit or brightly illuminated, moving objects, and exposure to fumes/odors, dirt/dust.
• Work may require learning to operate electrical, mechanical and flame/heat-generated devices.
• Work requires basic computer skills.
• Work entails constant contact with staff and employee/customers. Work entails verbal contact and/or face-to-face contact.
• Requires seldom bending over, climbing, balancing; occasional walking, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying of up to 10 pounds, repetitive use of both hands with light grasping and finger dexterity; frequent standing, sitting, near/far vision acuity, depth of perception, field of vision, accommodation and absence of color blindness.
• May perform simple tasks, simple reading, writing and math skills, spatial, form and clerical perception, follow instructions, memorize, problem solve and use independent judgment and decision-making skills.
