We are seeking a Diversity Senior Advisor to support Cigna's enterprise diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategy execution. This role will report to the VP or Sr. Director, DEI and will lead and manage key DEI initiatives and programs that were developed to advance the DEI strategy.
The Diversity Senior Advisor will handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, managing concurrent projects and priorities. This individual must be detailed oriented and analytical, have strong project management and communication skills, and be comfortable presenting to all levels within the organization. They must also have demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information and act as a liaison between the DEI team and other key stakeholders, both internal and external. The ideal candidate will need to be a strong team player with the ability to engage and collaborate with HR and matrix team members across the organization with an end goal of flawless execution. They will have a passion for DEI and be able to clearly articulate Cigna's mission and how fulfilling our DEI promise enables achieving Cigna's commercial purpose.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Diversity Leadership
Acts as a DEI subject matter expert by contributing perspective, insights, and knowledge, and taking a balanced consultative and systemic approach to enable the organization to achieve measureable DEI results
Develop leading practice and innovative programs and initiatives that align with the Cigna DEI strategy and leading from concept through implementation
Design and launch initiatives focused on creating a diverse and inclusive culture that drives and supports the enterprise DEI strategy and employee engagement
Drive DEI goal attainment of programs and initiatives through program management and defined project plans; Manages implementation activities, and develops processes, documentation and communications for program/process rollout and ongoing support
Represents DEI perspective on HR cross-functional projects and initiatives
Influence decision-making related to people practices and HR priorities through robust and compelling data and analysis
Assess gaps and opportunities for advancing and improving DEI efforts, and propose solutions for addressing those gaps
Proactively identify risks/issues, providing suggested solutions for resolving risks/issues and overcoming hurdles to drive results
Focuses on providing thought leadership within DEI but may work on broader projects and initiatives which require understanding how DEI supports other areas of business, in addition to linkages to Building Equity & Equality Program, Corporate Responsibility, Community, and Cigna Foundation.
Measure, track, and analyze the effectiveness of DEI initiatives and predict future needs in our DEI efforts
Maintain and expand knowledge of current DEI topics, programs, and trends and use insights to recommend and develop programs and practices suited for Cigna
Provides administrative and managerial oversight to junior team members on various initiatives

Leverages data driven approach to identify, design and launch programs and initiatives focused on creating a diverse and inclusive culture that drive and support the enterprise DEI strategy and employee engagement
Supports preparation of goals and topics for the Enterprise DEI Council
Participates in the DEI content for the annual Corporate Responsibility report
Collaborates with members of the broader HR organization to ensure DEI integration with HR programs and initiatives, as needed
Supports Building Equity & Equality Program and Community/Charitable Giving initiatives, as needed
Leads and develops tools, templates and processes designed to support enterprise-wide DEI programs (e.g., budget management, bi-annual ERG co-lead transition process, annual strategic planning, ERG Cigna Standout programs)
Market/Business and Communications Support
Acts as DEI SME for input into Business RFI/RFP responses for DEI-related questions and proof points, and maintains repository of responses available to the full DEI team
Supports Market/Business requests for DEI presentations both internally and with clients and prospects
In collaboration with our DEI Corporate Communications lead, oversees development and execution of communications and messaging for internal and external audiences in support of DEI initiatives
Supports the DEI Iris site and Cigna.com DEI page content development and collaborates with Communications, PR and Legal as needed on updates
Builds and leverages DEI external community relationships to identify best practices and incorporate into execution of the DEI strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree (preferred) in human resources, organizational development, change management, or relevant field
8+ years of experience working in DEI and/or HR on DEI related initiatives
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proven track record of supporting programs that advance the enterprise DEI strategy
Awareness of industry best practices and trends and legal requirements as it relates to diversity
Results oriented and resourceful mindset and quickly take control of responsibilities
Demonstrated experience analyzing data to draw meaningful conclusions and develop recommendations
Ability to research and create content that showcases core understanding of DEI principles
Action oriented, superior attention to detail, strong organizational skills
Ability to build relationships and influence change at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, multiple timelines and drive them to completion using project/program management tool
Ability to think intuitively, creatively, analytically, and strategically
Able to work collaboratively and proactively, while balancing a variety of priorities and workload
Adaptable to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment
Organized and disciplined with strong project management capabilities
Works both independently and as a collaborator across DEI team, HR and other internal and external stakeholders
Excellent written and oral communication skills with internal and external business partners and employees
Solid understanding of company's mission, vision and strategy to achieve long and short term goals
Strong strategic and analytical orientation with the ability to drive operational excellence and strong business performance
Comfortable with role of change agent and working in ambiguity
