Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:



The Machinist is responsible for the planning, set-up, operation, and adjustment of both manual and CNC controlled vertical lathes. Machinists utilize work orders and drawings to perform production tasks for our gasket and seal products.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Utilizing vertical lathes and other shop equipment to machine gaskets and seals
• Set-up and adjustment of machines based on work orders and drawings
• Measurement of products using micrometers and calipers
• Scheduling and execution of work based on work orders and routers
• Transacting machined products to next stage in production utilizing Oracle system
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard free work area
• Comply with all OSHA and company safety practices and regulations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2+ years' experience operation a vertical lathe
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work orders
• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction or supervision
• Commitment to work safely in all aspects of the position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



Hard to Very Hard Work: Spending time in excess of 8 hours in a stationary position, generally standing. Physical demands may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, positioning self to utilize equipment properly, and lifting and/or transporting items up to 35 pounds.
