As part of the Integrated Media Team, within our Advanced Marketing Capabilities organization, the US Media Partnerships & Investment Leader is the chief custodian of the Kimberly-Clark US (KCUS) large paid media investment across traditional and digital media channels.

In this role you will:


  • Build, negotiate and execute effective and efficient partnerships with essential media platforms which maximize KCUS access to actionable insights, drive personalized communications (optimal audience, message, placement) and leverage best in class performance measurement.


  • Set clear best-practice executional guidance and work in close partnership with all KCUS brand and agency teams to ensure the value of all investments is fully realized as plans go to market.


  • Transform and sustain the way K-C engages in the video marketplace where the traditional upfront is being replaced by more flexible, holistic partnerships, leaning more heavily into addressable CTV and OTT solutions.


  • Lead innovation in capabilities in emerging media as relevant for the future growth of the business.


  • Recommend and leverage the best tools and partners for identity based, cross-media measurement to ensure K-C maximizes critical audience reach, while mitigating for effective frequency across a media landscape dominated by walled gardens.


  • Define and enforce buying guidelines in the areas of brand safety, viewability and ad fraud. Ensure K-C all investments meet K-C compliance terms and secure appropriate reconciliation when there are shortfalls.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the KCUS relationships with Facebook, Google and other Audience First media partners (i.e. Pinterest, Disney, Spotify, TheTradeDesk and others) and oversee contracting, implementation and value realization of joint business plans.


  • Lead KCUS transformation approach to TV upfront buying/planning to deliver cost effective and commitment flexible ways of reaching consumers in video via addressable methods.


  • Partner closely with all KCUS brand and agency teams to maximize the effectiveness and scale of our media investments by establishing K-C buying guidelines, enforcing performance standards, and securing reconciliation when shortfalls occur.


  • Implement an ongoing media test & learn plan which ensures K-C is gaining valuable long-term learning in critical emerging areas of media.


  • Regularly report on KCUS media investment performance and proactively provide recommendations where shifts should occur to ensure we are keeping pace with media consumption trends and is maximizing the impact our investments can deliver.


  • Partner with our Insights & Analytics team to lead recommendations for media measurement tools and approaches which help solve industry challenges of unique reach and frequency management.


  • Apply and scale investment approach media investment/partnership learning and best practices across all KCUS brands and business units.


  • Support KCUS Media Director to inspire, educate our marketing leaders in the areas of personalized communications, multi-cultural and inclusive marketing. Train our teams to extract business driving value from the media measurement and analytics tools at their disposal.


  • Partner closely with KCUS Retail media lead to ensure all planning and buying are holistic and integrated.


  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to respond to real-time insights and ensure we shift our media investments accordingly as valuable learning gets scaled and applied across the portfolio.


  • Collaborate with Global Digital COE and Global Business Sector Teams to leverage existing Communication Frameworks, which include strategic media principles and guidance for activation for all of K-C’s major brands.


  • Support KCUS Media Director and procurement to recommend and conduct media cost/quality and financial audits, develop agency RFIs/RFPs as needed and ensure any ADUs are recognized and returned quickly and in full.


Main Opportunities:


  • Bring K-C’s media partnerships and investment approaches fully into the modern area of marketing where data, precision and holistic, connected consumer experiences have replaced scattered bulk buying. This includes leveraging our partnerships not only for precise media targeting, but insights, content support, paid/earned/shared/owned integration, measurement, and capability building/training of K-C marketers.


  • Leverage the scale of K-Cs investments to drive effectiveness and value savings in the 10s of millions per year, via exploration of all viable buying approaches, stronger negotiations, higher agency accountability and execution of our paid media activity.


  • Establish and maintain an industry best investment stewardship and reconciliation governance system which holds our partners (media platforms and agencies) highly accountable to delivering guaranteed goals and KPIs of our investments across all digital and broadcast channels.


  • Build and sustain a learning agenda/test and learn program for KCUS which ensures we are gaining critical learning in areas where the media landscape, driven by evolving consumer behavior and expectations is moving.


  • Hands-on leadership and support of all KCUS brand teams and agency teams as they execute investments in collaboration with our preferred media partners.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA, or graduate level degree in relevant field.


  • 10+ years of experience in media strategy and investment with 5+ years of experience in leadership roles.


  • Deep expertise in all forms of Media, including related tools, science, precise R/F aggregation / calculation methods, targeting, data, dynamic content, ad fraud, view-ability, brand safety, programmatic, DMPs and strong emphasis in emerging capabilities in these areas and how this may apply to US business today and in the future.


  • Experience leading negotiations and partnership agreements with digital, broadcast, and CTV/OTT platforms.


  • Strong problem-solving skills and calm persistence in navigating tough industry challenges to build capabilities ahead of the curve.


  • Outstanding communication skills, especially ability to make complicated subjects and capabilities accessible, understandable, and actionable.


  • Ability to prioritize and maintain focus in complex and shifting environments.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Hands on experience in digital media buying platforms across social, programmatic and search.


  • Experience leading data strategies, and effective 1st party data harvesting practices.


  • Proven ability to lead clients into robust and effective multi-cultural, D&I marketing strategies and tactics.


  • Active member and leader in relevant industry trade groups (ANA, IAB, MRC, etc.).


  • Comfortable working in "white space" to establish new capabilities, processes, and innovations.
