Job Summary

The overall purpose of this position is to effectively contribute to the success of the Information Technology IT Compliance group. The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for the coordination of activities related to IT project implementations, ensuring adherence to IT compliance guidelines. This position supports the ITIL initiatives of IEEE, ensuring adherence to the IT Governance, Change Management and Release management processes. The incumbent works closely with IT technical teams as well as with members of other organizational units and requires planning and communication of activities, as well as coordinating troubleshooting efforts and leading mitigation strategies. The incumbent in this position needs to understand a wide variety of IT practices and governance procedures and be able to implement best practices in a rapidly changing environment.

The role typically reports to a Director and manages zero (0) direct reports. This role is committed to the groups success, as its support ensures defined procedures are adhered to, lessening the risk of non-compliance.

Key Responsibilities


  • Works closely with Infrastructure, Security, Development and other teams to understand requirements and to coordinate end to end activities from inception to deployment

  • Responsible for developing deployment plans ensuring defined Change Management procedures are followed

  • Responsible for communication of various work efforts to a wide audience

  • Works with resource managers for scheduling of resources

  • Works closely with the IT Compliance team, providing backup support for Change Management and service disruption analysis and reporting activities

  • Supports IT's incident and problem management processes

  • Contributes to process development based on business needs

  • Acts as an advocate of the IT department supporting IEEE Competencies and IT Core Values

  • Ensures schedules are adhered to; escalates risks

  • Liaises between technology, support and business teams

  • Supports IT Governance; provides input and status updates at scheduled meetings

  • Ensures IT operational activities are compliant with defined processes and procedures

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Additional Responsibilities


  • Supports the delivery and management of various IT communications

  • Contributes to the production of required statistical reports related to IT Compliance

  • Provides recommendations on process improvements for the purpose of increasing efficiency

  • Creates and updates documentation as necessary

  • Supports IT audit activities

  • Responsible for goal setting and self performance evaluations

Education


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience BS or BA degree in the field of Computer Science or business Req


Work Experience


  • 2-4 years Experience in fast paced environment; working with cross-functional teams Req


Skills and Requirements


  • Working knowledge of ITIL principles

  • Familiarity with technologies used for incident, problem and change management
