Senior Director of Business Development Public Systems
The Organization: Shine Early Learning
The Purpose of the Role
The Senior Director Partnership Development for Public Systems is responsible for meeting the company’s revenue targets through a strong focus on growth. This is achieved through designing, developing and executing a sales strategy and tactics aimed at the Shine partner base and Acelero Learning.
A Day in the Life
Shine Early Learning’s Public Systems division is dedicated to building and implementing training and technical assistance solutions, strategic and program planning and management, and other quality improvement initiatives for states, municipalities, and school districts. The division will work with state and local governments to leverage the research-driven, practice-tested tools and systems developed and utilized in our current projects (check out Philadelphia’s SPARK Quality Support Center and Indiana’s SPARK Learning Lab) , with other public systems and program partners, and our own Head Start programs to support quality for the early childhood education sector.
Sales Prospect & Pipeline Development
Identifies, evaluates, and recommends potential sales opportunities within the Public System.
Establishes a presence in early learning communities building their awareness of Shine Early Learning.
Develops a pipeline of prospects, within nine months of hire.
Maintains a prospect pipeline that is 2.5X annual sales goals, which are updated annually.
Supports the design of public system programming, as well as the scope of Shine Early Learning and Partner relationships.
Bolsters retention of current partners (for example attending and/or facilitating regional, state, and national events).
Sales Planning and Lead Development
Negotiates and secures the contract between the partner and the Shine.
Represents Acelero and Shine in the early care and education community to build brand awareness and generate leads.
Develops detailed sales plans identifying current and new business opportunities. Adjusts to meet business and market changes and demands.
Includes specific prospecting strategies identifying new business opportunities and creating a compelling business need.
Sales Management
Supports business development by leading and/or collaborating on the submission of grants and RFPs, creating new features for existing and new markets, and developing partnerships.
Sales Communication
Establishes and maintains a high level of visibility within industry groups and early childhood ecosystems and establishes a high level of fluency in emerging and impactful industry developments.
Operationalizes sales strategy and as a result identifies objectives, key results, tactics, programs/projects priorities, and timelines.
Collaborates with and influences product design and development teams to ensure the Voice-of-the-Customer is represented in products and services.
Collaborates with the Program team to inform the development of offerings to meet customer needs and communicate these effectively.
Building Business Partnerships through Consultative Relationship Management & Marketing
Builds, develops and manages relationships with partner executive leaders, subcontractors and key current and future stakeholders demonstrating the ability to successfully “quarterback” deals through the entire sales life cycle. Engages appropriate Executive Leaders where necessary to influence the final sales process.
Drives growth by directing sales and retention strategy for Public Sector markets.
Meets with Executive Leadership to discuss growth objectives to present past and potential sales opportunities, quarterly.

Position Collaborates with: Public System Leaders, Strategy and Growth leaders
Who should apply? (Requirements)
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 5 years of partnership development-related experience including establishing collaborations with other organizations. Prefer experience in early care and education (including Early / Head Start management experience).

Location/Travel: Remote up to 40% Travel
Salary: $110K - $125K with performance-based compensation upside
This position earns up to 125,000.00 Annually
