Job Description:

We Offer
Our globally distributed team manages a broad spectrum of litigation and regulatory matters including major international investigations, regulatory requests, individual civil actions and criminal proceedings. As Head of Litigation & Investigations reporting you will report to the General Counsel (GC) Litigation & Investigations and be responsible for:


  • Internal and external reporting on LIG's docket, including quarterly reports for key prudential regulators; Audit Committee and BoD-level reporting (routine and ad hoc), and divisional and legal entity specific reporting, as well as all ad hoc requests for information on LIG docket.
  • Preparation of Litigation Note to Group Annual and quarterly financial reports; liaison for Public Disclosures team. Handle litigation-related disclosures in other annual and quarterly reporting as required.
  • Manage due diligence reporting on LIG matters in connection with CS debt issuances and other transactions.
  • Management of external and internal audit relationships; responding to all routine and ad hoc audit requests for information on LIG matters, processes, and reserves, and remediation of any audit points.
  • Management of quarterly litigation provisioning process, including running of quarterly governance meetings, and management of associated SOX control processes. Act as key point of contact for CFO as to litigation provisions and legal billing.
  • Management of SOX controls, including semi-annual testing and end-to-end process review and attestations. Responsible for creation and administration of new SOX controls as required by audit/SOX team.
  • Handle Non-Financial Risk relationship, including semi-annual regulatory capital stress-testing exercises and maintenance; regulatory capital workshops and litigation pipeline reviews; monthly liquidity and risk reporting; and all ad hoc Risk requests and projects.
  • Sourcing and vendor management, including Third Party Risk Management onboarding and approval processes; contract management; and billing approvals.
  • Technology management, including acting as liaison for IT and eDiscovery teams; matter and legal hold system management and reserve system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Handle all LIG-wide and GC-wide projects.
  • Maintain and update all LIG-owned policies and provide LIG feedback on other policies.
  • Active engagement in our outside counsel management process to ensure efficient collaboration with law firms.
  • Leading a team of 3 legal professionals, all based in NY.
