Business Unit Description: 

The FRFS Product, Relations and Marketing Group (PRiMe) conducts marketing research to support Federal Reserve Product Team, FRS Districts and internal departments. The results of the research analysis contribute to decisions that directly benefit financial institution customers and streamline business functions. Within this framework, determining customer needs, preferences and satisfaction with respect to Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) is critical.

Job Responsibilities: 

- Provide support in managing marketing research projects and analyzing research data under close to general

supervision

- Assist in crafting survey questionnaires

- Program short online surveys

- Review/test online survey instruments for accuracy and functionality

- Monitor and verify survey data collection

- Conduct analysis using Excel (e.g., Pivot tables) or other statistical analysis programs

- Summarize survey results in Excel charts/PowerPoint presentations

- Proof reports produced by Insights Team for accuracy and legibility

- Identify and write general research findings

- Key projects: User Satisfaction and Senior Decision Maker Surveys, Market Intel

- Help plan and organize the annual Chicago Payments Symposium, a premier industry payments conference

- Organize research materials for internal audit and for posting on CRSO website

Job Requirements: 

- Familiarity with general marketing research methodologies and analyses

- Experience with online quantitative survey instruments and qualitative interviews or focus/discussion groups

- Strong project management, and oral and written communication skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

- Innate attention to detail and accuracy

- Interest in solving problems, or generating solutions

- Curious about financial services

- Willing to ask questions to clarify or better understand new topics

- Proactive in supporting, contributing, and collaborating with teams

Internship Program Details:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Summer Intern Program is a paid internship that is open to undergraduate, graduate and PHD students.  It begins in June and continues for 12 consecutive weeks. Interns work 40 hours per week and are assigned to one department. 

*Students who are currently taking a gap year or gap semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic remain eligible for this program.

Typical Day:

Project oriented hands-on assignments and professional development activities including a volunteer project. Interns receive a solid overview of the Fed while contributing to their designated Bank department.
