What you will be doing:
Direct a shift - AM or PM depending on business demand. Oversee multiple hourly colleagues in various kitchen or event locations.
Lead and manage the Stewarding team and ensure standards are followed
Oversee the scheduling and labor management of stewarding employees
China/glass/silver/equipment maintenance. Ensure all equipment is in working order and report any items in need of repair.
Chemical/equipment ordering
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Maintain the sanitation of kitchen equipment and other areas assigned to ensure optimum food safety
Maintain rubbish removal systems including maintaining compactors, receptacles, and supplies
Maintain a Hotel wide recycling program including equipment, product handling, and goals
Managing stewarding requirements for banquet events.
Work closely with F&B Management to anticipate guest needs
Work closely with equipment vendors to procure the best product for the best price
Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues
Balance operational and colleague needs
Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
Other duties as assigned
Your experience and skills include:
Organized and a great team player
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Previous leadership experience in a Stewarding department
Ability to coordinate a team, work well under a fast paced & high pressure environment, driven to remain calm & courteous at all times, and hold the needs of a guest with high priority
Computer literate in Microsoft & Windows applications required
Understands financials of the department
Passionate about maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Understanding of food safety & hygiene and knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment/machinery
