Job Description:

The primary function of the Estimator is to support the process used to provide project cost estimates and quotes that deliver and drive business. This position must work closely with the business development, project management, operations and supply chain people to coordinate the creation of quotations for potential projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (May include some or all of the following responsibilities)
Support estimating and quoting process in response to customer requests/RFQs.
Gather project details working closely with business development to understand full scope of work. Examine customer specifications and details. Review with others to understand customer timeline requirements and BHFs capabilities and schedules. Prioritize and manage quotation projects to meet customer timelines. Organize and maintain records associated with the quoting process; maintain pending quote log. Upon project completion, analyze actual production hours and materials and compare to the quotes.
Support the continuous improvement of estimating tools to increase accuracy of quotes while reducing the time required to provide quotation to customers. Establish and document preliminary Bill of Materials (BOM), Manufacturing Cost & Strategy, and Routings. Work with Production and Supply Teams to define required lead-time to deliver quoted projects. Work with finance team to periodically evaluate labor rates compared to estimates; interact routinely and proactively to improve cost of manufacturing finished goods. Support safety and EHS programs outlined in our Company EHS policies and any applicable State or Federal regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all ISO and regulatory standards.All other duties as assigned.
