Responsible for being the main point of contact and supporting specific regions of Whole Foods Market (WFM). Heavily involved in resolution of day-to-day issues involving servicing WFM. Manage, direct, and coordinate all sales plans and programs. Create partnering relationships of trust, integrity, customer satisfaction and loyalty. Oversee development of the accounts and meeting the customer’s needs. Create partnerships with vendor and broker and other trade partners. Execute existing sales plans and goals designed to increase sales, profits, and market share and to minimize expenses. Provide recommendations to increase sales and profits. Ensure professional business relations exist with customers and their needs are met.
Job Responsibilities:
Work closely with all UNFI departments to ensure the Region’s needs are being met, regarding fill rates, promotions, on-time delivery, order quality, etc.
Ensure requests, needs, and questions are promptly resolved. Follow-up on all notices for action and new opportunities.
Coordinate necessary meetings and communication, both internal and external, to address any issues relating to servicing the Regions.
Provide recommendations regarding improvements in sales and service delivery, programs, and procedures.
Ensure WFM Regional team & stores are aware of UNFI processes, policies and procedures, and other information relevant to the business.
Exceed customer expectations.
Coordinate planning and ensure implementation of effective sales programs and policies.
Assist Senior Management with long and short-term sales strategies.
Ensure sales plans complement and support established Company-wide goals.
Ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
Research and evaluate current and potential sales opportunities. Develop recommendations.
Identify opportunities to gain business from other distributors and develop plans for doing so.
Assist with forecasting of Forecast profit and volume growth and related goals.
Assist in preparing sales budget by sharing knowledge of region and market dynamics.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional business relations with customers, vendors, and trade contacts.
Ensure sales process is professional and effective.
Represent the Company at trade functions.
Ensure the Company's professional reputation is maintained.
Maintain awareness of the Company's competitive position, industry trends, and the changing business environment.
Performs other job duties as required.
Job Requirements:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management (or a related field) or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
Minimum of five years of sales experience preferred.
Experience in developing and carrying out business plan and/or sales plans
System Implementation Preferred
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Company products
Understanding of sales forecasting, programs, promotions, and related techniques
Familiarity with Whole Foods Markets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Skills/Abilities:
Strong leadership abilities
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer expectations
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to interact at all levels of business
Able to manage and coordinate projects
