What You Can Expect:
The Radiologic Technologist performs standard diagnostic radiographic procedures on designated parts of the body, as required by physician's orders. This position reports to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging Services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's Mission: Advocate, Care, Teach, and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health's values
Performs standard diagnostic radiographic procedures on designated parts of the body, as required by physician's orders
Selects proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination
Positions and instructs patients while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices, as required
Performs basic preventative maintenance on equipment and orders repairs when needed
Ensures procedures are properly tracked in EPIC; ensures all patients and their information is logged
Provides adequate and timely communication with staff; encourages involvement and participation from the staff in departmental operations
Alters activities/behaviors to reflect/ensure adequate care appropriate to the age of patients served (i.e. adolescent, geriatric, pediatric, neonatal, adult)
Cooperates with the affiliated institution to provide sound clinical experience to healthcare students
Observes and supervises students during-x-ray intervention, and assures adherence to aseptic and safety practices; evaluates students and programs as requested
Participates in the technologist's call schedule
Trains and precepts students and/or new employees
Must remain in compliance with all accreditations including but not limited to: American College of Radiology, Indiana State Department of Health and The Joint Commission education, license and certification requirements.
