Job Summary\u0007 Serve as a technical consultant to the sales force generating functional system descriptions block flow diagrams and equipment lists to enable generation of customer proposals. The Senior Design Engineer is also leveraged by the post sales team for project engineering and or on-going project consultation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities\u0007 Support the development and mentor lower level Design Engineers \u0007 Review and validate the work of lower level Design Engineers\u0007 Translate customer requirements into functional system designs\u0007 Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings calculations and acoustical modeling\u0007 Review pre-construction design and documentation \u0007 Assist with technical design pricing and identify any logistical challenges\u0007 Generate functional system descriptions and block diagrams\u0007 Identify all cabling and miscellaneous material needs\u0007 Design wall plates and overlays\u0007 Provide material and labor estimates for projects \u0007 Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed\u0007 Obtain project sign-off as needed \u0007 Customer liaison for engineering inquires \u0007 Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate products \u0007 Post sales project consultation\u0007 Travel to various job sites is required Other duties assigned as neededSkills and Abilities \u0007 Communicate and interact with internal employees clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner \u0007 Proven business writing skills \u0007 Proficient with test and calibration equipment \u0007 Support user acceptance testing \u0007 Ability to program change and troubleshoot (AMX/Crestron) \u0007 Ability to diagnose complex system problems \u0007 Advanced computer skills as required for the design configuration and operation of AV equipment\u0007 Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines\u0007 Effective communication and interaction with employees clients and colleagues\u0007 Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards Education and/or Experience \u0007 Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred\u0007 Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred\u0007 At least 10 years of AV experience is preferred\u0007 A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience Working Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
