The Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics has a unique and tight-knit culture where individuals are valued for their contributions. The Project Manager (PM) will provide ongoing infrastructure support for the new US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-funded Sentinel Innovation Center and will be a critical part of the Division.
Responsibilities include project management, including establishing processes for the Center, developing and documenting project plans, timelines, and progress reports. The PM will work closely with the Center's Executive Director and Operations Chief, investigators and staff in the Division, as well as collaborators at BWH, Partners HealthCare System, the US Food and Drug Administration, and other institutions around the country. In addition, the PM will oversee the administration of multiple projects within the Center.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively about managing activities of a large, dynamic research network. Three or more years of experience in healthcare research project management is highly preferred.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: I
Key management responsibilities:
Provide oversight and management for day-to-day operations of a major FDA project
Oversee the seamless planning and execution of all aspects of work within the Center
Assist in the development of new project proposals and independently build relationships with collaborating institutions
Develop and manage a process for distributing project opportunities to collaborators and for soliciting and selecting proposals, in collaboration with the FDA
Monitor progress of overall research project portfolio
Coordinate and organize multiple groups of varying size and composition (e.g., internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, advisory board, individual project teams)
Prepare presentations and materials for distribution related to the project priorities
Work cooperatively and effectively with other team members to set priorities, allocate resources, and monitor progress toward goals
Key research responsibilities:
Assist in development of study protocols
Contribute to research activities including participate in data preparation, analysis, and visualization in R and SAS
Contribute to the preparation of research reports and manuscripts for publication in professional journals
Accountable for ensuring research operations run effectively and efficiently
Support and, if appropriate, lead the planning, execution and oversight of multi-year, multi-stakeholder research projects
Manage project timelines to ensure that project goals are met on time
Provide project updates to project team and collaborators (internal and external

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS required, Master's degree or higher in a healthcare field preferred
Prior research experience with healthcare data is required
1-2 years working in academic medical centers or health research organizations desirable
Ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure successful execution of multiple projects simultaneously
