GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Manufacturing Operations Intern will be responsible for working closely with the VP of Operations to review and update the capital expenditure ("CapEx") process. This role is responsible for building a tracking document and dashboard to facilitate the budgeting process each year. Finally, the incumbent will drive a process flow to ensure timely CapEx submittal through the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct review of the existing CapEx process and identify potential gaps.
Interview site and operational leadership to gain feedback and insight related to improvement opportunities.
Work with members of the finance department to understand costing models.
Benchmark CapEx processes and financial models.
Prepare timely updates and reviews.
Create process maps to support to specified projects.
Acquire, analyze, and present data related to projects.
EDUCATION: Enrollment in 4-year degree program is required. Enrollment must be in one of the following fields: Business, economics, or engineering.
EXPERIENCE: 1+ month of relevant experience is required.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Organized, methodical problem-solving and critical thinking.
Strong written and spoken communication skills to communicate data-based conclusions.
Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Experience with process mapping, analysis and improvement.
The ability to travel up to an expected 25% of the time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and lift up to 10 lbs.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $17.00 and $21.50. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
