Job Summary

Flagstar Bank is looking for an intern to join our Mortgage Servicing team over the summer. As a Flagstar Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the daily functions and operations of our Mortgage Servicing department. During this time, you will interact with team members and leaders to gain real-world experience by working alongside our team to learn our processes and improve efficiencies while expanding on the core concepts introduced throughout your college classes. Throughout your internship you will participate in multiple engagement sessions designed to enhance your career outlook, communication skills, and business knowledge.


Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $15.13 - $19.49



Job Responsibilities:



The program that this intern will be supporting specifically is the build out of the Private Label Servicing (PLS) offering.


Assists in managing the program management life cycles for the implementation of complex, large-scale, strategic servicing initiatives.


Responsible for the planning, analysis, execution, and delivery of technical programs supporting Flagstar's key business initiatives.


Responsible for developing and implementing systems that track and report progress of large scale programs, identifies intersections of programs and potential resource constraints for programs.


Responsible for communicating status, challenges, and solutions to business leaders in the execution of large scale initiatives.


Responsible for collection, development, analysis, and governance of servicing process documentation and metrics for internal and external audit and regulatory purposes.


Utilization of MSP and Black Knight ancillary suite of servicing tools.



Job Requirements:



  • HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent Required

  • Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in related field (economics, business, finance, marketing, etc.) - Junior or Senior year preferred

  • Six Sigma, SAFe, or Project/Program Management certifications preferred

  • Knowledge of technology solutions that streamline business processes (excel, sharepoint, salesforce etc.)

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues at different levels of the business and the servicing group.

  • Strong presence in remote environments (webex, Microsoft teams, video conferencing, etc.)

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Strong financial analysis skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate vision, goals, and themes to all business audiences

  • Strong persuasion and influence capabilities

  • Ability to deliver presentations of complex information to a variety of audiences

  • Strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives

  • Ability in managing to a budget
