Robotics/R&D Manager *Job Title:* Robotics/R&D Manager
*Location:* Bridgman, MI
*Salary:* $120k-$140k

We are an innovative automation and manufacturing organization based in beautiful Southwest Michigan. Due to our recent growth, we are searching for a Robotics Manager to work heavily with our R&D team on researching and testing new technologies related to automation and manufacturing.

What You Will Be Doing - Direct duties and responsibilities of teammates within Robotics / Research & Development Department as pertaining to robot programming, debug efforts, researching/testing new technologies in automation industry
- Manage resources project timeline/milestones, act as gatekeeper for all engineering activities pertaining to robotics programming and debug (including in house and sublet resources)
- Improve processes, deliver conforming quality products and services to internal/external customers, collaborate on experimental prototypes/design improvements, concept and process development and process validation
- Programming and troubleshooting/debugging of industrial robots, documentation, vendor quotations, maintain safe work environment, manage/document project metrics for submission to VP of Engineering, maintain Robotics Standards document and implement processes for the team
- Directly supervise team of engineers, assign resources to projects based on capability of engineer and project requirements, Monitor/ report progress on each project (Manage, Monitor and Report Work Flow)
Work Environment:
-Includes some exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting /uncomfortable, may require wearing common protective or safety equipment.
-Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
What You Need for this Position - 5+ yrs working with industrial robots
- Proficient in industrial robot programming
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Cost and timing estimating
- High school diploma or equivalent, 4 years technical training (BSEE or BSME)
- Technical knowledge of construction, application of materials, basic controls, test applications
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Project Management, Ability to travel
- 6-axis style robots
