New Product Development Engineering co-op focused on bringing new products to market. The position primarily involves product and equipment design, intellectual property investigation, prototyping, as well as hands-on process development. Co-ops will gain valuable experience in plastic product design and automated manufacturing practices.

Conducting research and assembling design proposals, providing accurate timelines for project tasks, and clearly presenting project details Ideate, model, prototype, develop, conduct peer reviews and introduce new products and processing technologies Perform automation equipment design and development Fixture and component design and implementation using 3D modeling and drawing techniques Collaborate with team members to review concepts, prototypes, designs, drawings, and technical specifications Part failure analysis with emphasis on identifying root cause and suggestions for improvement Critical thinking and problem solving, constantly striving to improve the product development process Adapting to project scope changes, analyzing and resolving problems and making quick, responsible decisions with limited information

Creative, detail-oriented, able to solve complex problems using methodical approach and rational thinking Proficiency using SolidWorks (3D modeling and drawing) Manual dexterity, basic knowledge of tools and how to use them Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced working environment Strong communication skills, ability to convey information both verbally and in writing Process design and optimization utilizing Design of Experiments is a plus Machine shop experience, FEA knowledge, and programming experience are a bonus

Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2023 or later
