What does a Loan Operations Representative at CNB do?

A Loan Operations Representative is responsible for providing superior loan servicing support to process various loan account creation and maintenance activities on the bank’s core loan servicing system. To accomplish this goal, the Loan Operations Representative will perform duties such as transaction processing, data input and data upload verification across the bank's loan portfolio. This role will interface with co-workers across the bank to support these lending activities and ensure bank customers experience the highest levels of service associated with their loan. A Loan Operations Representative may engage in a number of activities related to reporting data to credit bureaus, monitoring of real estate tax and insurance requirements, completing other third-party reporting requirements, and engage directly with customers in certain circumstances.

What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?

  • A high school diploma or equivalent normally required, associate degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or related field strongly preferred
  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a related position
  • Two or more (2+) years’ experience in a Loan Servicing Operations role strongly preferred
  • Loan Servicing experience in FISERV DNA strongly preferred
  • Specialized banking education and training, additional focus on Loan Products is highly desired
  • Moderate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient mathematics skill, including calculating interest accrual on accounts.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Products

What does a successful first year in this position look like?

  • Perform clerical duties up to volume and accuracy standards.
  • Respond to all inquiries or requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate records and provides assigned written reports.
  • Able to resolve routine issues/disputes throughout the loan life cycle.
  • Monitor and act on a variety of system generated exception reports.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to the ongoing maintenance of the CNB Loan Portfolio.
  • Gain knowledge of the laws, regulations, and practices that impact Loan Servicing, such as the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Homeowners Protection Act (HPA), and associated amendments to these regulations. Perform various functions directly related to loan servicing compliance with these regulations.
  • Acquire and develop a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products, services, and systems associated with the Loan Servicing function.
