This new position represents an exciting opportunity to join Juilliard’s marketing team, a highly collaborative group within the Public Affairs department. This individual is responsible for managing the operational and production processes in support of Juilliard’s four-person design team as they deliver high quality creative projects on ambitious timelines. Support a range of marketing and fundraising goals including print and digital campaigns for recruitment, live and on-demand performances, fundraising campaigns, special events, and earned revenue initiatives such as Extension and the Juilliard Store. Essential duties include liaising with internal departments to determine project needs, budgets, timelines, and approvals, as well as continually honing production processes with internal team members and externally with vendors and installers. The successful hire will be persuasive, quick-thinking, and service-oriented, in addition to having the creativity to find ways to reach marketing and design goals most efficiently with available resources. The Public Affairs department is a team comprised of marketing, communications, editorial, website, design, social media, and digital media professionals dedicated to furthering Juilliard’s mission of providing the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers, and actors from around the world. 

This position is located on site (not hybrid or remote).

The salary for this role is $70,000 per year

Role Responsibilities

•    Manage design processes from conception to delivery, ensuring projects meet expectations for timeline and budget; providing support to the design team so that their time may be fully devoted to creatively executing projects. 

•    Manage the project approval process within the organization and the Public Affairs team  

•    Own the process for creating and monitoring physical and digital signage within the Diamond Building, Juilliard’s spaces in the Rose Building, as well as outdoors on the Lincoln Center campus to maintain high standards of timeliness and regular maintenance.  

•    Manage electronic bulletin boards, ensuring channels for external-facing messaging located at Box Office and Store are continually relevant for public audiences, and that internal-facing messaging are frequently updated for the school community.

•    Assist with coordination of photo shoots including locations, photographers, releases, and participants.

•    Support relationships with vendors and installers, from procuring estimates to being physically present during installations, including coordinating signage and delivery for major campus events such as Commencement and Convocation.

•    Manage design projects and timelines relating to admissions and recruitment as well as other school-facing initiatives including viewbooks and other campaigns that support summer programs and other initiatives that help create a pathway to college admission.

•    Manage design projects and timelines relating to earned revenue (which in turn supports student aid) including season performance brochures, flyers, posters, and digital collateral for Extension, Store, Hire Juilliard Performers, and Juilliard K-12. 

•    Support design requests from all other departments including Development, Office of the President, and artistic areas as needed.

•    Manage processes for major institutional mail campaigns for Marketing and Development. 

•    Assist with procuring appropriate QR codes, illustrative, and photographic material as needed.

•    Remain current with design industry trends, best practices and standards (no first-hand design involved).

•    Support the invoice process as needed.

•    Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements

•    5+ years of relevant project management experience

•    Strong typographic skills and attention to detail

•    Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines

•    Must be able to demonstrate stellar organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

•    In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization

•    Must have a passion for and commitment to exceptional quality

Preferred Background

•    Experience with educational or performing arts institutions, either through direct employment or similar agency or freelance work.
