What you will do

Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, the assistant controller has a pivotal role on the Manufacturing Team. The team member will be assisting with the preparation and review of financial plans, forecasts and results partnering directly with manufacturing management

In order to complete tasks and meet deadlines, the analyst must work independently, with financial systems and build effective working relationships with operational finance teams and other business partners.

How you will do it


  • Support the month end close process and work with the RTR teams.


  • Partner with the Johnson Controls Shared Service Center on AP invoice resolution and payments


  • Support Cost Accounting activities and review of BOM’s


  • Assist budgeting and forecasting cycles and provide related analysis for management review.


  • Complete and distribute required analysis for monthly financial reviews (sales, product mix, conversion costs, labor and warranty analysis)


  • Identify and execute opportunities to drive profitable growth and improved gross margin and segment income.


  • Review Continuous Improvement Initiatives financial forecasts and actuals accuracy.


  • Analyze plant productivity metrics and make recommendations to management on how to improve plant productivity.


  • Participate in plant Kaizen and CI initiatives and actively identify opportunities to improve financial performance


  • Participate in quarterly physical inventories


  • Review payroll data and other personnel related costs with the Shared service center.


  • Maintain and ensure compliance with Delegation of Authority policy


  • Improve processes to ensure balance sheet integrity


  • Ensure adherence to Corporate and Divisional accounting/internal control procedures, SOX compliance and reporting requirements


  • Participate and present in plant communication meeting.


What we look for


  • Bachelor or Masters Degree, with accounting or finance background


  • 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent through different experience.


  • Microsoft suite, HFM - Hyperion Financial Management preferred


  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and US GAAP accounting required.


  • Outstanding ability to communicate, motivate and partner with business operation leaders
