Summary:


Prepares claims/statements for patients, insurance carriers, State and federal agencies according to billing specifications and in a timely manner; prepares and completes inquiries concerning patient accounts to various internal departments; contracts verbally or in writing insurance carriers, State or federal agencies concerning patients' accounts; records, maintains, and analyzes reports or data pertinent to the processing or finalization of patients' accounts; performs other billing functions assigned.




Qualifications:


Required Education and Experience


1. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in medical billing and follow-up procedures or a related field; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and Medical Billing Certification.


NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.



Preferred Qualifications:



The preferred candidate will have a high school diploma with experience in a healthcare setting specifically 3-5 years in Hospital Medical Billing, is familiarly with Medical claims processing & Follow up to accounts. They will also be proficient in Microsoft Systems and will be familiar with Medical Terminology.
