POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Working under the direction of the Fleet Director, the Fleet Specialist’s primary function is to support the Fleet programs provided by vendors for all areas of fleet maintenance and services (Incl. fuel program). The Fleet Specialist will support the Fleet Director in all aspects of the management of the fleet, as well as evaluate the existing LES/Vendor relations and quality of service for potential improvements.  The Fleet Specialist will assist with the management of the vehicle fleet in accordance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory standards

Essential Functions

• Oversee R&M network to support Field Operations – Focus on mobile vendor solutions where possible and ensure high work quality that is timely and cost effective.


• Support day to day repairs, preventive maintenance, warranty recovery and source/inventory parts (when needed). Focus on improving downtime, repair quality and developing downtime tracking


• Support the onboarding of vehicle assets from new company acquisitions.


• Oversee the Preventative Maintenance program – including PM duration protocol, and PM compliance.


• Support the Fleet Management vendor’s daily operation – including PO management, dashboard data accuracy/relevance and the quality of overall service that LES has contracted for.


• Support (day to day) fuel program activities.  Participates in the development and evaluation of the use of alternative fuel sourcing (wet hosing), and on-site fueling (storage).


• Support day to day Fleet processes and the primary external vendors (Ex. Fleet Management vendor) chosen to support those activities.


• Support the disposition of the retired fleet efficiently and in a manner that minimizes the overall vehicle lifecycle cost.


• Support the vehicle order, up-fitting and delivery process to meet expected timelines and budgets.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

• The ability to analyze data, create reports and make recommendations to improve the operation


• In depth, solid working understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Work, Excel and Outlook.


• Good organizational skills.


• Flexibility and the ability to perform other duties as assigned. Strong Excel skills


• Independent and self-motivated


• Professional caliber of communication skills


• Ability to balance multiple tasks

Education and Experience  

• Working knowledge of Fleet Maintenance and Repair


• High school diploma or equivalent (Required).


• College (Bachelor) degree

• ASE Truck Master Technician

• CAFM or equivalent


• Professional appearance and demeanor

Working Environment:

• There are no special physical requirements for this position.

• Occasional travel (approximately 10%)
