This key leadership position provides project leadership across operations, supply chain, category management, sourcing, contract manufacturers, supplier quality and other functions as needed. This position is a key coordinator, liaison and manager who will lead efforts across the operations function to ensure business goals are met.

This position is located in Miami Lakes, FL or Mounds View, MN.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Conducts strategic supply chain analysis to foster a continuous improvement environment.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the supply chain.
  • Develops and implements models, strategies and/or processes to optimize the supply chain function.
  • Conducts and/or manages strategic supply chain analysis.
  • Coordinates and integrates the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers.
  • Sources, orders, supplies and delivers competitively priced raw materials, component parts and/or finished goods.
  • Develops plans related to volume and demand.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the supply chain.
  • Develops and implements supply chain designs, models, strategies and/or processes to improve the business.
  • Liaise with the MCS cross-functional teams and supporting Medtronic organizations within the Global Operations and Supply Chain group
  • Champion long-term component sourcing strategy
  • Initiate and conducts regular Supplier Reviews with suppliers in collaboration with Medtronic Global Operations and Supply Chain organization.
  • Provides tactical and/or operational leadership and coaching.
  • Champion and document the Voice of Operations for MCS.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have
• Project Management: Extensive experience leading a complex project/program including financial accountability

• Experience in medical device or highly regulated industry

• Experience in new product OR new process development including launch (R&D optional)

• Product/Process technical expertise include including Qualifications (i.e. Validation including IQ, OQ, PQ activities; CPAP or related)

• Experience or extensive knowledge of at least 2 related disciplines (with knowledge of all) such as:

• Product development

• Manufacturing Engineering

• Supply chain planning/capacity planning for launch

• Sourcing including component qualification

• Quality engineering including new product

• Manufacturing supervisor/manager

• Sourcing / Supplier / Supply Chain Planning experience

• Experience with Design for Manufacturability/DRM/DFSS or similar methodology

• PMP certification

• Leadership through influence in matrixed organization and ability to work well in a team environment including cross-culture

• Great Communication Skills (Verbal, Written, and Presentation Skills)

• Business acumen and understanding of operations costing (LBM, OPC, Inventory deferrals, capital project management, etc.)

• Ability to strongly advocate for and represent Operations to a cross functional team related to project and business needs
