What You'll Be Doing:

Samsonite is in search of a Senior Accountant to perform all accounting functions related to daily operations, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close procedures. You will work on-site 4 days per week with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week.

Financial Reporting and close activity:

• Analyzing GL account activity and account reconciliations.


• Preparing month-end journal entries and ensuring all B/S accounts are properly supported.


• Owning daily sales reporting for assigned business areas from generation to distribution.


• Maintaining sales reporting for Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly reports.


• Providing accurate and timely financial reporting such as Brand Category or Cost Center reporting for the business departments using Essbase and HFM as appropriate.


• Updating forecast and identifying trends and possible expense savings.


• Completing month-end closing reports and other assigned reports accurately and timely.


• Preparing IFRS reporting as required.


• Assisting with creation and input of annual budgets into HFM.

Month End Reporting:

• Performing month-end closing process, account reconciliations, and key metric reporting.


• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and internal controls, notifying appropriate parties.

SAP/HFM Reporting:

• Manage system data in SAP and HFM

We're Excited If You Have:

• BA/BA Accounting or Finance


• 3+ years' experience in similar corporate environment, retail industry preferred


• Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and usage of financial statements


• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS


• Capacity to perform detailed analysis while understanding big picture implications


• Strong systems experience, SAP/BI, Hyperion preferred
