Job Description:

Key Responsibilities 

• Create tooling designs using SolidWorks.


• Manage new design projects.


• Able to create high quality and manufacturable designs by demonstrating a high level of understanding of machining processes.


• Will work with the Tool Makers and CNC Programmers to collaborate on the designs.


• Prepare and certify that the documentation of each project is in accordance with internal standards.


• Aim at improving our process seeking technologies to improve our efficiency and reduce the deviation to the maximum.


• Upload drawings to our PLM system.


• Use high resolution 3D scanner for reverse engineering and process the scans in the mesh software.


• Will work in imperial and metric units.

Communicates with:

• Operational & Technical Directors


• Tool Room Leader


• Customers & suppliers

Education and Experience 

• High School Diploma or GED required; BS in Engineering with emphasis in design or manufacturing preferred.


• Reading and interpretation of technical drawings.


• 5 years Tooling Design Experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills 

• Proficient in operating machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment.


• Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software (e.g. CAD).


• Works effectively with minimal guidance.


• Proficient with SolidWorks


• Strong problem-solving skills.


• Solid understanding of tolerances.


• Design of injection molds


• Design of extrusion blow molds


• Design of metal stamping dies


• Product design


• Knowledge as a machinist operating Machine Shop equipment.
