Job Summary
This position will operate the loader equipment and the drying machine. The position is one that is outdoor, unpaved environment. The successful candidate must be able to work at a good pace and with seriousness. The operator will use the loader to take the sand and put it into the dryer. He/She will operate the dryer ensuring it respects the recipe. The operator will have to adhere at all times to safety policies and procedures and respect the quality assurance procedures and rules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that the dryer is functioning properly and dries at the right temperature and flow rate, thus respecting the directives on how to manipulate the equipment. Makes necessary process adjustment as needed.
Could be asked to shunt
Work in an environment using combustible material (propane)
Responsible to fill the dryer with the proper sand as per manufacturing orders and assuring that the dryer works at all times during the shift.
Supports the production laborer when you are not drying sand or when requested by the company.
Other duties and/or responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned as needed
Requirements
One year experience minimum in driving a loader
Active driver's license
Must be able to work safely, judging distances and operating equipment with precision
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education is an asset
Able to read and write in English as well as record and understand numerical values
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 lbs., extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, working inside and outside, and use of protection equipment
Able to perform job tasks in dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions
Able to sit for extended periods, climb up & down from cab heights, and work effectively in outdoor climate(s) - cold, heat, rain, fog
Preferences
Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment, with a proven track record of contributing toward team goals
Compensation
Hourly rate - Starting at $18/hour
Work schedule : day shift, 40 hrs/week
3 days for personal time off per calendar year paid out if not used on the last pay of the year
2 weeks' vacation per calendar year for the first 2 years and 3 weeks' vacation starting the 3rd year of service + 5 paid holidays between Christmas and New Year
