Imaging Support Specialist at Vancouver Clinic in Vancouver, Washington

Job Description:

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two doses of a 2-dose series or a single dose of a 1-dose series prior to start date. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days post series completion date.

Imaging Support Specialist performs a variety of clerical and support functions within the imaging file room associated with computer information systems.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Import and export images into PACS.

  • Document scanning.

  • Provide high level customer service for internal and external customers.

  • Maintain integrity of patient records contained within Film Library.

  • Transfer of Imaging Studies to Virtual Radiology as directed.

  • Verify accuracy of information sent and monitor study flow to ensure that studies are being reported in timeframes identified by the Radiology manager.


Process Prior-study Retrieval

  • Identify prior patient studies according to Vancouver Clinic (VC) policy and request images as needed.

  • Check the Prior Rad Que a minimum of 4 times daily, tracks film requests.

  • Retrieve study from VC PACS/ or other facilities as available by accessing PAC system and ensuring the study can be displayed.


Process Outside film requests

  • Process requests from Non VC providers or patients for VC imaging studies

  • Identify the appropriate studies to be sent.

  • Prepare the study by uploading to a CD from PACS.

  • Request old studies as needed.

  • Contact non VC imaging study providers to request outside film.

  • Receive incoming CD containing imaging studies and upload to PACS.

  • Manage Patient Healthcare Information (PHI) according to policy.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Data entry skills of at least 40 wpm.

  • Intermediate level computer skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced patient care setting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to adjust working pace as needed based on flow of requests/work.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare imaging environment preferred.

  • Medical imaging terminology experience preferred.

  • Computer experience required; proficiency with Windows based software.

  • Experience with multi-line phone system helpful.

Pay Range:
$15.68 - $21.96

PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
