Position Description

This is a skilled position requiring employee to manage and coordinate activities of workers engaged in construction operations. Position requires the employee to communicate well with managers, construction schedulers and frontline team members. The employee must have a basic understanding of day-to-day constructions operations.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Prepares daily work schedules to ensure that sufficient shift personnel are available for workload demands.

  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains reports, statistics, and records.

  • Attend scheduling meetings with management to plan upcoming needs.

  • Prepares company employment records for new employee's data entry into systems and other documentation as required.

  • Ensure employees follow company safety and environmental policies.

  • Manage utilization and inspection of owned and rental equipment.

  • Works with maintenance shops to schedule equipment repairs and services.

  • Must be able and willing to work full-time and overtime if necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Actively manage the 30-60-90 progress for all new hires in the construction division.

  • Participate in hiring events such as career fairs.

  • Tour job sites and interact with direct reports.

  • Setup and manage Tyfoom, Synchro Notes and Whip Around applications for all new and existing employees.

  • Manage the setup and removal of jobs within the Lineup platform.

  • Distribute work orders to crews if necessary.

  • Schedule and manage time off request through the time off application.

  • Coordinate with other lines of business and opco's to maximize recourse utilization.

  • Monitor employee timecard for accuracy and approve if necessary.

  • Attend human performance coaching opportunities as necessary.

  • Order and set up new devices and accounts for field employees.

  • Order, prepare and maintain applications on employee devises. (Such as: B2W, QuickBase, OneDrive, Tyfoom, Whip Around, ect.)

Assist in the oversite of 200 employees in the Construction Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, job data entry, employee data entry, managing devise activation and maintenance, managing account activation and maintenance.

Safety Expectations


  • Conduct daily risk assessment prior to days operations.

  • Conduct Monthly work zone inspections using the Tyfoom tool.

  • Have clear understanding of procedures in the event of an incident.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of safety policy and procedure (TRACK, GOAL, SEE STOP DO, FEET NOT INCHES, BE A SPOTTER GET A SPOTTER, 3 POINTS OF CONTACT, ETC...)

  • Ensure VCRs (Vehicle Condition Report) are completed by all operators daily via Whip Around.

  • Locate, identify, mark, and communicate project specific hazards.

  • Participate in and ensure crew member participation in TYFOOM.

  • Attend and participate in incident review calls/meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Will work with a varying number of employees and the devices that are assigned to each individual.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Language Skills


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately.


  • Have a Strong understanding of Outlook. Must have the ability to read and respond to email.

  • Have a Strong understanding of Microsoft Word

  • Have a Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Develop an understanding of QuickBase.

  • Develop an understanding of Line Up.

  • Develop an understanding of One Drive.

  • Develop an understanding of B2W Track.

  • Develop an understanding of Paver Tracker.
