Responsible for special projects and related engineering assistance in support of injection molding manufacturing operations. Assists in designs, procurement and maintenance of molding equipment and tooling. Some travel may be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue potential enhancements in new or existing molding equipment that would result in cost savings, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements. Troubleshoot quality and processing concerns with new mold tooling and equipment, then implement correction action. Inspect and verify incoming mold tooling and equipment to ensure they meet original build specifications.
Must actively support production, resolving issues as they arise, to minimize downtime.
Contribute to product design during the development stage to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principals, customer functional, and aesthetic requirements are considered.
Supports the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Assists in validation trials, feasibility studies, design tests for performance of processes and materials.
Assists with development of specifications, new tools, processes and training procedures.
Utilizes disciplined and proven problem-solving techniques to determine root cause analysis for equipment downtime and customer complaints and develops permanent corrective actions.
Champions scrap reduction activities in assigned area of responsibility. Supports, contributes, and demonstrates lean manufacturing principles in work area.
Continuously works toward achieving goals and measurables of the facility.
Complies with policies, procedures, and facility standards in ISO14001, ISO45001, IATF 16949, including safety and environmental guidelines.
Required to be on call and responsive to production support needs of the facility
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline with minimum two years directly related experience in an injection molding manufacturing facility or substantial injection molding experience with proven capabilities.
Ability to analyze equipment and processes in an industrial environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
