Overview

The Department of Physics at Princeton University seeks a Manager of EDI, Outreach, Events & Communications who will provide outstanding strategic guidance and support to maintain organization, coordination, and efficiency for programs, events, and communications related to all Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) matters for the department. Reporting to the Senior Department Manager and serving on the senior staff, this position will engage with all constituents of the department. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete a variety of tasks associated with the development and administration of EDI initiatives, including: organizing programs to support EDI efforts at all levels in the department; supporting departmental outreach efforts; planning on-campus seminars and events; arranging logistics for guest speakers; coordinating newsletters and announcements, and other associated events.
  • Manage EDI efforts of the department.
  • Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster EDI goals in Physics.
  • Create documents, presentations, and communication products for internal and external audiences regarding EDI efforts.
  • Handle meeting and event planning, coordinating, and execution.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel and coordinate itineraries and schedules related to outreach and events.
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders on collaborative projects, seminars, trainings, and events.
  • Serve as liaison between department and other campus partners regarding EDI initiatives.
  • Attend EDI sponsored events as required and assist with event coordination.
  • Serve on relevant campus committees.
  • Develop and manage outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate EDI communications efforts including regular website management as well as newsletters or other tools.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least three years related experience specializing in EDI programming.
  • Desire to work on a diverse team of highly motivated professionals who play an important role in implementing EDI strategy and commitment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work both independently and as a team member with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exhibit tact and discretion with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Comfort interacting with University senior leadership, highly motivated students, and faculty.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite or related software.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills: the ability to communicate with a diverse campus community, public speaking and program coordination skills, demonstrated integrity and initiative, and the willingness to be part of a collaborative team.
