Posted in Information Technology 30+ days ago.

Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Overview:

Self-Help is a national Community Development Financial Institution with a mission to create economic opportunity by providing financial services and lending to working families, small businesses, and communities in historically underserved markets. We advocate for regulatory changes that stop predatory practices and support fair and accessible financial services for all. This mission is realized through the Self-Help family of nonprofit organizations, including our fast-growing credit union network serving almost 200,000 members and the capital ventures fund that manages expansive real estate development and home loan secondary market programs.

We rely heavily on computer applications to automate our business functions, and these are critical to our success. The Application Analyst will join a larger team dedicated to the growth and operational support of key business applications. This position requires analytical and technical skills and good collaboration with teammates and functional business owners. Although this position will be exposed to multiple applications, most of the time will be in support of the Mortgage Loan Servicing systems.

WHAT you’ll do:

As a Business Analyst

  • Analyze and document business requirements, then build workflows and make system configuration changes to effectively address these requirements.

  • Document system processes, workflows, interfaces, and data flows.

  • Assist with the project management of scheduled operational activities such as loan servicer conversions, and in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new software features and enhancements.

As a System Support Resource

  • Perform the recurring daily administrative functions of business applications.

  • Oversee automated routines such as EOD Processing to ensure that scheduled processes complete as expected; perform initial troubleshooting of failures.

  • Assist more senior team members in the planning and execution of large-scale time-sensitive manual processes, such as EOY.

  • Create and execute test plans to ensure the quality of new system releases.

  • Partner with training staff to develop training on new processes, functionality, and system changes.

  • Provision user access within the applications, including adding and removing users.

  • Participate in the inventory and control of application software licenses.

  • Generate ad hoc and routine scheduled reports.

  • Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.

WHAT you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience plus 2 years of business analysis, or related experience.

  • Knowledge of loan systems and loan servicing, especially for home loans, strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with database systems and database analysis query tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully optimizing business systems to ensure maximum efficiencies for the organization.

  • Ability to analyze and develop business and technical requirements.

  • Ability to develop and execute test scenarios.

  • Detail-orientation with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Credit union or financial services experience preferred but not required.

  • Project management experience a plus but not required.

  • Strong people skills and the ability to build solid relationships at all organizational levels.

  • Strong commitment to our mission – creating economic opportunity for traditionally underserved communities.

  • Preference for working in organizations that place priority on teamwork and collaboration.

Compensation:

Competitive nonprofit compensation, based on experience, plus a generous benefits package.
