Job Summary:
The Global Commodity Manager oversees commodities related to electronics and electrical/mechanical devices striving to improve flow from a global supplier base to support customer needs and reduce material costs to improve the bottom line. Responsibilities include developing/managing key commodity strategies, managing the transition of volume to newly developed partnerships, and driving Supply Chain projects to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate commodity related data to generate strategy and action plans to reduce company's total cost of ownership (pricing, freight, tariffs, value add, expanding supply base, etc.).
Support Supply Chain initiatives to leverage global spend opportunities.
Generate cost saving projects related to direct materials and manage the implementation with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, etc. to support global customer base for our high mix/low volume products.
Support cross functional teams that are faced with identifying and developing a nimble, effective supply base that will support manufacturing strategies, and create product roadmaps.
Act as a liaison with appropriate counsel in developing global supply agreements to ensure protection of Intellectual Property and derive benefits around quality, delivery, and cost.
Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships that deliver competitive advantages including lowest total cost, highest quality products, and excellent customer service.
Remain current with industry supply trends and provide market intelligence to the business.
Communicate direction, and spearhead negotiations, with all levels of supplier management to develop and deploy appropriate strategies, contracts, and business relationships that satisfy current and future business needs.
Monitor key supplier performance for on-time delivery, quality, and other needed key performance indicators (KPIs) as part of our continuous improvement environment.
Partner with quality and purchasing teams as needed to address / manage key supplier corrective action activities.
Manage Sourcing and Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
6 years of experience in purchasing and/or commodity management in an Electronics or Electrical/Mechanical Device industry, in a high mix/low volume environment.
Experience with sourcing and contracting enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
ISM CPM or CPSM or equivalent certification.
PMP or equivalent certification.
Contract negotiations, vendor management, and influencing skills with a proven track record.
Ability to work well in a high-paced dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion and deadlines are met.
Strong project management, organizational, and reasoning skills.
Able to solve problems using a systematic approach and provide sound solutions to resolve day-to-day or strategic opportunities.
Able to write reports, business correspondence, and standard procedures. Able to effectively present information and respond to requests from internal and external customers as well as suppliers.

Location Information:
This position is a remote role. Up to 30% travel may be required.
Salary Range:
The annual pay range for this position generally ranges between $90,000 - $120,000. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition, AMETEK provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee assistance program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
