Manager, New Product Development Engineering

We are currently seeking a Manager, New Product Development Engineering to join our team at our headquarters in Peabody, MA.

Working closely with our Business Development Team, you will manage and guide the staff, resources, and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management. You will lead a talented team of Engineers and Scientists in R&D activities aligned with market analysis, industry intelligence, and customer monitoring to develop and support product roadmaps and new product innovations and enhancements.

In this role you will:

• Oversee and supervise the NPD/R&D team
• Execute TMC's product development roadmap
• Research new or emerging technologies applicable to TMC's markets
• Provide responsive sales and customer technical support, including analyzing customer requirements and defining technical approach
• Provide technical support to Sales, Operations, Service, and Quality
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, incorporating resource management and milestone deliverables
• Lead efforts for testing and evaluation of products, parts, equipment, tools, and systems along with necessary corrective follow-up
• Establish collaborative relationships with University and industrial partners, and participate in relevant technical organizations

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
• Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
• "Roll up your sleeves" attitude in applying technical experience, knowledge, and skills in contributing to team efforts; pragmatic and results-oriented
• Detail-oriented and organized, ability to multitask
• High level of interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence across multiple levels within the company
• Proficient in the use of contemporary computer aided design and mathematical modeling tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Physics with an emphasis on control systems and dynamics
• 2 or more years of management experience, 5+ preferred
• Experience leading projects in an Agile Stage-Gate development environment
• 2 or more years of Project Management / Project Engineering experience
• Experience with policy deployment or other Lean management techniques
• Experience with Voice of Customer analysis
