OPERATIONS TRAINING CURRICULUM DESIGNER- TEMP at Kent Pet Group in Muscatine, Iowa

Job Description:

KENT® Pet Group has a fantastic new summer opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented curriculum designer! This exciting role will collaborate with subject matter experts outlining objectives, create engaging training materials and resources, as well as determine evaluation methods. This is a temporary role, that will work up to 40 hours per week.


The successful candidate should understand how the learning process works and be prepared to collaborate with a wide range of staff to develop operational training curriculum for our facility in Muscatine, IA. This work can be performed remotely; however, the candidate must have the availability to work onsite in the manufacturing facility as needed to collaborate with operational leaders.


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Partner with on-site personnel to observe current operational work processes.

  • Utilize trends in instructional methods and technology to develop training materials and delivery methods that meet the needs of our employees.

  • Review current training content and provide feedback or recommendations on any necessary modifications.

  • Design training curriculum that aligns with company objectives.

  • Create effective and engaging training course content and resources such as presentations, videos, handouts, etc.

  • Create supplementary trainer guides and materials

  • Determine trainee evaluation criteria.

  • Develop procedures for operations to implement curriculum.

  • Make recommendations for improvements to training programs based on feedback

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams


EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles

  • Ability to write clear instructional copy

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and instructional design

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or other training software

  • Proficiency in the manufacturing or operations industry is a plus


TRAVEL:



  • Potential to travel to KENT® offices in Columbus, MS during the summer, up to two times.
