Position Summary
Supervises, trains and monitors the activities of assigned subrogation specialists ensuring the accurate investigation and timely processing of subrogation claims.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required.
Responds to questions from subrogation specialists and adjusters regarding handling of subrogation claims. Reviews claims files and counsels subrogation specialists on further action as necessary.
Negotiates settlement amounts with other insurance companies or directly with claimant as required. Conducts related research as necessary.
Oversees the preparation of files for lawsuits and recommendations regarding litigation. Assists in the preparation for trial procedures. Attends pretrial functions and trials as necessary.
Routinely evaluates current systems/processes and recommends changes to improve efficiency. Maintains standards for operational effectiveness and analyzes and identifies procedures that can be modified to improve work-flow.
Assists claims manager and may act on his/her behalf as necessary.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Six years adjusting claims/subrogation experience required. Associate in Claims (AIC) designation and/or Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional designation preferred. Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Appropriate license as required by state.
