As a key leader on Cigna's Medicare Growth team, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and General Manager for Cigna Supplemental Benefits (CSB) leads profitable growth by settingthe vision and growth strategy across all distribution channels, collaborating with matrix partners for geographic and product considerations, and delivery on results.

The VP & GM is a strategic and forward thinker partnering with Regional Distribution Leaders, National Broker Leader, and Telesales Lead to gain awareness across all channels as needed in order to build out multi-year expansion, synergies and growth strategy. This role is responsible to collaborate cross functionally with key matrix partners to ensure awareness and insight into the overall sales strategy for growth, and focus on Medicare products across the Government Segment and enterprise to ensure distribution alignment. Focusing profitable growth opportunities with existing and expansion markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with distribution and matrix partners developing and executing on multi-year growth plans for local and regional expansions (both near and long term) across the broker, telesales and field channels

  • Partner with other business units to develop strategy for integration of synergies across government segment units (CSB, IFP, MA, PDP, & future products)

  • Collaborate with National Broker lead to develop and execute broker value proposition across the agency continuum and pathway for agency expansion

  • Partners with National Broker lead, Telesales lead, and Regional Market Leaders to develop sales goals & objectives

  • Coordinate sales growth strategy & execution of strategy with other business units

  • Review & react to analytics to gain insights on performance and opportunities across the regions to define and redefine strategy

  • Identifies opportunities for channel diversification to increase growth in lower cost channels (e.g. field, online sales)

  • Works on strategy (2-3) years out across all channels, driving systems improvements, defines where we want to expand our footprint in markets, and the type of products sold to hit profitable growth metrics

  • Serves as the liaison between CHS Customer Experience and distribution for customer retention strategies, as they are a critical component of growth.

Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements:


  • 10 + years of experience in a sales environment

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Medicare Supplement, insured products, Medicare Advantage, and PDP

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with strong organizational leadership and presentation presence

  • Strong partner relationships with networking skills and strategic mindset focused on profitable growth

  • Knowledge of compliance procedures and MMGs

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change

  • Knowledge of (industry) landscape, (trends, and key competitor strategic direction)

  • Ability to travel 25% to 50%, regionally and nationally
