This position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Preferred locations are listed in this requisition. Responsibilities require time in the office or in a field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.
As a Software Engineer Sr., you will be a part of PNC's Enterprise Technology & Security organization.
Essential Function
•Experience developing enterprise grade applications using Java
•Implementation and scaling of Java microservices supporting high volumes
•Knowledge of source code management best practices
•Ability to understand, manage, debug microservices running in containers
•Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker
•Experience with DevSecOps and related tools (Jenkins, Git)
•Expertise in building REST APIs, and interfacing with REST APIs, Databases, Event Streaming Platforms, and Cloud Services
•Focus on business value, security, and performance throughout the development lifecycle
•Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
•Critical thinking and future-proof development practices
•Good written and verbal skills for collaborating across teams and lines of business
•Good documentation skills (i.e. Swagger)

Technical Writing/Documentation – Knowledge of the technical language and writing approach, and the ability to write paper-based and on-line technical reference documentation (guidelines, standards, procedures, processes, applications, etc.)
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
