Role Responsibilities:



  • Lead, motivate and mentor a team of professional accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Responsible for timely preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statements

  • Monitor the workload distribution of the accounting staff, prioritize tasks and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Advise accountants regarding the handling of non-routine transactions

  • Responsible for quality of accounting through review of all journal entries and monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations by accountants

  • Assign tasks, set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations of team members.

  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identify, review and implement process improvements in the department

  • Evaluate internal control processes across all entities and implement process and/or control changes as required


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 10 years relevant accounting experience; preference given to those with experience in both public accounting and industry

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting required.  CPA or Master Degree preferred.

  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar managerial role with focus on employee development.

  • Excellent at workload prioritization, resource management, and project management.  Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient.

  • Comprehensive understanding of G/L and financial reporting processes

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • A self-motivated hands-on team player with a “can-do” attitude and a solutions-oriented personality

  • Ability to adapt quickly & maintain flexibility with regard to ad-hoc projects, revisions to areas of responsibility and organizational change

  • Comprehensive understanding of all Microsoft Office products as well as experience in various accounting computer systems.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements
