Your role as a Project Coordinator will help meet the above goals in a dynamic, thoughtful, and progressive environment. In this role, you are asked to be responsible for client engagement and success in support of global policing initiatives.


IACP seeks to hire a Project Coordinator to broadly support IACP efforts on several grant and non-grant international projects and initiatives.  The ideal candidate for this position will have had international experience (study abroad, humanitarian missions, work experience, etc.). Professional proficiency in another language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic) is preferred.


Job Responsibilities


Working with IACP staff, project partners, and stakeholders, the Project Coordinator will:



  • Assist with organizing and tracking details for project-related meetings and events including budget expenditures, logistics, and programmatic information

  • Aid in the logistical and programmatic organization of meetings consisting of staff, consultants, and law enforcement and community partners

  • Organize and track project details including monthly budget expenditures, progress reports, and training and technical assistance information

  • Organize and facilitate on-site meetings, training events, and teleconference calls, providing input, direction, and support as needed

  • Assist with the development and revision of training, informational, and other project-related materials such as educational handouts, worksheets, evaluation forms, publications, videos, guidebooks, reports, webinars, workshop presentations, and fliers

  • Assist with preparation, support, and evaluation of consultants and trainers

  • Gather information, policies, research, and resources, and identify promising practices for responding to project-related issues

  • Facilitate meetings and small group discussions with law enforcement, subject matter experts, and criminal justice partners

  • Create and support project outreach, marketing, and information dissemination including social media and web site postings

  • Assist with developing and maintaining project-related databases

  • Maintain records in accordance with IACP and funding agency guidelines and create required event requests as needed

  • Maintain communication with project team including staff members, partners, funding agency, and subject matter experts and act as a liaison to external stakeholders

  • Assist with identification and development of grant solicitations and proposals

  • Assist in the coordination of domestic and international travel logistics for small and large delegations of police professionals

  • Coordinate and secure interpretation services for meetings, training events, and teleconference calls, and translation services for project related documents and resources

  • Other duties as assigned


Education



  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field + two (2) years of job-related experience 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other relevant business software 

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered 


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Solid analytical skills to include ability to troubleshoot problems from multiple perspectives

  • Effective task prioritization and time management skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Solid writing, editing, and communication skills

  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Experience with and ability to plan events and make logistical arrangements for individuals and groups

  • Ability to process invoices and other financial requests

  • Capacity to track data and create associated reports

  • Demonstrate adaptability and cultural understanding when engaging with international delegates, vendors, and project partners


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a non-profit organization, association, or criminal justice environment

  • Familiarity with and understanding of the policing profession and the criminal justice field

  • Professional working proficiency in another language (to include: writing, reading, and speaking)

  • International experience studying, working, or volunteering in countries outside of the United States

  • Experience working on domestic projects in the United States with a global scope

  • Familiarity with and understanding of law enforcement issues


 Special Conditions and Work Environment



  • The IACP offers a focused, team-oriented, learning environment grounded in open communications, professional development and shared context 

  • Domestic and international travel approximately 25% - must be able to obtain a valid passport and visa, as needed

  • Work takes place primarily in an office environment, which requires the employee to work from IACP Headquarters (Alexandria, VA).  However, the employee must also have the ability to work remotely. This will require the individual to have access to reliable internet and phone systems outside of the traditional office environment
