Jabil Defense and Aerospace Services is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to work onsite in St. Petersburg, FL. The Senior Design Engineer will be a subject matter expert and able to convey technical solutions to other engineers and to business personnel. They will have a good understanding of multiple CAD packages and cross-functional design implications, as well as capable of being the lead engineer involved in a cross-functional team.
This is an onsite in-person position.
This job requires U.S. citizenship.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Matter Expert able to drive cross-functional project teams in solving technical problems and overcoming hurdles that may affect project timelines.
Experience in releasing a product into a manufacturing production environment.
Represents Jabil Defense and Aerospace in technical customer discussions/meetings.
Work with Project Managers and Lead Design Engineer in the quoting process
Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.
Participate in all elements of design/VAVE engineering including design reviews and design verification, supply chain & supplier interaction, transfer to design/manufacturing.
Provide onsite technical support for manufacturing builds including engineering prototypes, NPI & production releases.
Be involved in feedback loop from manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to improve the current DFM process and outputs provided to mitigate liability and risk to product and quality.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 8 years of related experience working in a Manufacturing Environment OR an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
At least 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Customer Service experience required
PMP Certification is a plus
