Job Description:

Summary/Objective
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities and department work flows in all areas of plant maintenance including production, utilities and buildings maintenance. Includes t he direct supervision of maintenance technicians and support staff including contractors and vendors as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Plan, establish, direct, and supervise the activities of the team members by communicating job expectations, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Work with the Maintenance Manager to build, maintain and continually improve a reliable Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including parts inventory management, as well as asset database and asset reliability management systems.
Generates and organizes CMMS work orders for effective execution. Reviews all completed work orders and assigns additional work as necessary.

Drive effective planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance work through effective management of the CMMS task and work order system. Complete maintenance tasks by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; and resolving problems.
Work with internal departments to build and maintain preventative/recurring maintenance activities in the CMMS. Facilitates responses to equipment and PM process deviations identified through PM execution, including updates to CMMS.
Manages overtime effectively to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance work orders while working to limit overtime to "as needed".
Enforce and maintain compliance with food safety, employee safety and sanitation policies and programs.
Analyze daily maintenance work records to identify opportunities and drive action to improve and resolve any ongoing issues or areas of opportunity.
Support engineering projects to ensure smooth execution and hand off to production
Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment by interpreting, training and directing personnel on SOP's, best practice and company policies and procedures.
Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiency.
Recommend and participate in the execution of personnel actions, including hiring, employee evaluations, terminations and promotions.


Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned from management to ensure business operations run smoothly.
Champion corporate food safety culture and strategies to mitigate food safety risk
Support Quality Assurance programs by developing initiative and timely follow-up on corrective actions.
Responsible for instilling the importance of safety in the workplace through adherence to safety rules, practicing safe work habits, utilizing appropriate safety equipment and reporting unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Champion Good Manufacturing Practices, maintain a clean and sanitary work practices.
Ability to be flexible to the productions needs and adjustments to work-hours.

Certification and License
None

Required Education and Experience
High school or GED certificate.

Preferred Education and Experience

2-4 years of college education.
A minimum of 6 months prior maintenance supervisory experience.
A minimum of 2 years working in a food manufacturing facility or similar environment preferred.
1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Work Schedule
The typical work schedule is second shift, 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week. Must be able to work any shift based on operational needs; weekend work is customary. It is the attendance standard of the employer that employee be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly works near moving mechanical parts, works on high voltage, near pinch points, troubleshoot machines with hot surfaces, sharp edges (knives), and/or removed guarding. The employee is also regularly exposed to airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals. Employee should read the warning labels for information and instructions. Rizo Lopez maintains Globally Harmonized Systems (GHS) (formally Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)) as required by law on hazardous products. GHS's are kept at the office for review by employees. The employee occasionally works in high or confined spaces and is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
