This Senior Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for leading a development team that will work with and support the manufacturing transfer activities of multiple catheters and capital system elements as part of integration activities of a strategic acquisition. This position will provide cross functional program leadership and will be accountable to execute against key milestones and commitments leveraging unique and differentiated technologies.

A Day in the Life:
•Provide development leadership for activities to ensure success of the manufacturing transfer effort related to the integration of a target acquisition.
•Accountable for the management of scope, cost, schedule, contracts, budgets, objectives, DRM Metrics, risks, and resources; responsible for ensuring transfer team can deliver on all required Business Deliverables. Ensure compliance to Medtronic's policies, and driving required system improvements
•Oversee project decisions and trade-offs in risk and deviation management; arbitrate escalated issues. Collaborate cross functionally with operations, quality, regulatory, , and other functions as necessary.
•Accountable for all solution communication with key sponsors, stakeholders and project team, including OU, PMO, team members, and functional leadership
•Provide people management skills to lead, coach and support CTMs as required to ensure project success
•Understand and lead the strategy and execution for the intricacies of transferring and scaling a new technology from a development perspective
•Technical skills adequate to understand risk and scale investments appropriately
•Able to assign resources based on business knowledge under the stress of dynamic business conditions
•Able to create and manage key internal and external partnerships across multiple sites
•Partner with internal and potential external stakeholders to develop approaches to transfer to internal or external entities while hitting key business objectives
•Provide progress updates to key R&D and other business stakeholders on a regular and as-needed basis
•Partner cross-functionally to assess external opportunities/options for consideration
•Urgently drive program to market as speed to market is key for this novel RF ablation therapy. This requires creativity in both solutions and approach while remaining compliant to all needed medical device compliance requirements

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have:
•10+ years of medical device development management (Medical Device Research & Development, Healthcare or Consumer IT, or healthcare technology environment) and previous FDA regulated industry experience.
•Experience with catheters and/or capital equipment and accessories
•Experience working with contract mfgs and internal mfg. sites.
•Demonstrated success in partnering and influencing across a matrix environment is required.
•Technical skills adequate to understand risk and scale investments appropriately; capability to understand the design and manufacture of capital systems and catheters.
•Ability to create and manage key internal and external partnerships.
•Strong technical expertise in the area of healthcare technologies and business acumen within strategic planning.
•Demonstrated track record of on time, on budget execution is required.
•The ability to leverage relations with key constituents to deliver tangible results and clinical insights is required.
•Strong influencing skills are required.
•Demonstrated effective change leadership and change management skills are required.
•Previous technical experience with advanced technologies is preferred.
•Professional attitude and service orientation with strong team player skills required
•The ability to actively develop talent and culture to achieve results is required.
•Temporary location will be considered but position will eventually be primarily located in the Minneapolis area. Position may also include up to 25% travel (domestic/international) depending on business needs.
